Woodcut DIY Halloween Cards & Gift Tags

Woodcut Halloween cards and hexagon gift tags suit rustic gifts styled with kraft paper and twine.
The Woodcut mini pack contains 10 folded card designs and 10 coordinating tags. Each card has a two-page PDF and separate outside and inside PNG spreads. Tags include individual PNGs and A4/US Letter print sheets. These designs also appear in the complete 100-card and 100-tag collection; choose a pack that fits what you already own.
Gather your supplies
- A computer and your downloaded, extracted ZIP.
- A printer and compatible paper or cardstock within its paper-weight limit.
- A ruler, trimmer or scissors, a scoring tool, hole punch and ribbon.
Cards fold to 5 × 7 inches. Tags finish at approximately 2 × 3.5 inches. The files are digital; paper, envelopes, ribbon and gifts are separate.
1. Choose and download your design
Download the ZIP from your order’s download page and extract it on your computer. Choose one card and a coordinating tag before printing. Keep the original files together and use the printable files rather than saving the watermarked blog previews.
2. Print a proof of both sides
Open the card’s two-page PDF. Print at Actual size / 100% using paper that accommodates the supplied spread. Start with a plain-paper test. If using duplex printing, try short-edge flip first, then check the front and inside are both upright. Printer feed paths vary, so confirm the result before printing cardstock or several cards.
3. Trim, score and fold
Allow the ink to dry. Trim the flat card to 10 × 7 inches following its trim marks. Lightly score the centre so each half is 5 inches wide, then fold to make a 5 × 7 inch card. Check that the front sits outside on the right panel and the inside message opens upright.
4. Cut and punch the coordinating tags
Print the supplied A4 or US Letter tag sheet at 100%, matching the paper size. For an individual tag PNG, preserve its supplied size, including the bleed area. Cut the finished outer shape, then punch the marked hole. Keep the punch clear of the illustration and thread a narrow ribbon through the opening.
5. Finish your gift
Wrap a small box in kraft paper and add plain twine; let the woodcut artwork provide the pattern. Keep the tag visible and write your message inside the card. A single ribbon colour is enough to connect the artwork with the wrapping.
For an extra handmade gift, follow the potion-bottle tutorial or make a Halloween junk-journal spread. Print a single proof of each new project before using your final materials.
